Japan received 10 million tourists from abroad in 2013 for the first time in its history, and more than 13 million in 2014.
As tourists are traveling for many different reasons and buying merchandise in increasingly various patterns, the tourism board and associations are promoting the VISIT JAPAN program designed to develop, promote, and otherwise handle tourist-oriented products that meet the various market needs.
The Japanese tourism board invited professionals from the tourism industry to attend to “VISIT JAPAN Travel & MICE Mart (VJTM) 2015”, from September 25th to 27th , an inbound business talk session for overseas travel agencies and related parties to meet tourism-related operators based in Japan.
At the same time, September 25th to 27th the “JATA Tourism EXPO Japan” is being held in Tokyo, one of the world’s largest international tourist events.
This was followed by a Familiarization tour in the region of Kanazawa and Takayama from September 28th to October 1st.
This has been a great opportunity to develop new products for the travel agency’s clients going to Japan and also to know much more about the destination and to share this expertise with the students from LaSalle College.
